A very long, lizard-like reptile has hatched from the egg. It is simultaneously skittish and aggressive, biting at its handler's hands defensively. When agitated, it shakes its tailtip, where the plates on the end rattle against each other to create a loud, rasping noise. Given the opportunity, the hatchling climbs tall objects such as trees and walls, using its sharp claws and flexible tail to find a secure hold. It strongly dislikes being removed from these perches, and the resulting bites can cause its handler's arm to go numb or even unresponsive for multiple days.
